A Different Kind of COVID-19 Update

Dear Readers, 

 Coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting our country in an unprecedented way. We are proud to be members of your community and understand that each of you is going through unique challenges. Our Bibles remain open, and our first and foremost priority is the salvation of believers and nonbelievers. 

 Here are a few steps we are taking to continue serving our communities as lovingly as possible: 

  • We are reducing hours spent watching the news and social media, and are prepared to not overreact to decisions from local and national officials that impact our circumstances but not our hearts. 

 • We are canceling all thoughts of hoarding through the end of this thing. 

 • We are following all guidance from God’s word regarding enhanced soul cleansing and spiritual hygiene, and are instructing our followers to practice social encouraging and check on a friend or neighbor. Continue to love and take care of each other. 

 Your Creator is available for you to place requests in His hands 24/7. If you don't have the physical form, The Bible app is also available to download for free for iOS and Android to access God’s word on your mobile device. 

 At heart, we are all children of God, and like many of you, we turn to various things in times of crisis. We want to encourage you to turn to the Bible. – to keep us informed, to bring us truth, comfort, and often just to escape for a little while into a captivating story. For those of you who choose to call on the Creator, know that He will be there to welcome you and recommend your next step toward a life free of worry. 

 Considering the most recent news and announcements from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have made the decision to continue lots of prayer around the world which can happen, at home, in the office, in a car, or anywhere you feel led. 

 Precautionary measures of prayer, love, and encouragement, have been taken to limit the potential spread of despair during the virus, to support our fellow humans in this challenging time and to ensure we maintain our ability to serve each other for the long term. Our senior leadership team (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) remains vigilant and is monitoring the situation in real-time and responding rapidly as conditions evolve. 

 We deeply appreciate your support in these difficult times.

Have you ever considered the complexity of prayer? Have you ever had something you needed to pray about, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to talk to God about whatever the issue was? I have experienced that many times. I will call it “Prayer paralysis.” Prayer paralysis happens when you are afraid of any answer God might give you. If He says no, then you might feel bad, or sad, or even angry. Should Someone Call an Exorcist?

Last Friday I went bowling with some of my family. I am aware of my low skill level, so I remained humble throughout the first game, and surprisingly finished in 1st place!  The second game began and I just knew I would dominate even more. I may not have been quite as humble. I was last on the list to go. I stood up and approached my ball with confidence. I picked it up, set my eye on the center arrow painted on the lane, then took a few quick steps forward just as I had before.  As I took my last step, I swung my arm backward, then forward, and fell flat on my face. Actually, flat is not entirely accurate. I’m pretty sure every one of my limbs flew in a different direction, and the position of my head may have had folks wondering if they should call an exorcist.   Anyone struggling with anxiety? I have struggled with it quite a bit. Then, I realize that forgetting to bring all of my anxiety-inducing problems to God, is a big part of the problem. Yesterday I talked about living in endurance mode. Part of that is taking all of the difficult things, and trying to wait them out.  If I really think about it, I may have subconsciously believed that struggling is just part of the journey and that I need to suck it up, because Jesus went through way more than I ever will.    But, “ Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)  He never intended for us to hold onto them.
