Nobody
Are you still struggling to and accept God’s will for your life? Do you feel like a nobody compared to the people you admire and put on a pedestal?
I’ve been struggling with that same thing. But have you ever noticed the screw-ups in the Bible God chose to make history?
Let me just name a few of the big players for you.
Paul, who used to be Saul, persecuted and murdered God’s people. He later became the greatest preacher of all time.
Moses was a murderer with a speech impediment, chosen to lead God’s people to the promised land.
Rahab was a sexually promiscuous woman with a bad reputation, whose faith led her to help two men of God. She became a part of the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Simon Peter denied Jesus THREE times. He later dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel with the world.
David was a king who impregnated another man’s wife, then had him killed to cover up his own sin. He ended up being named a man after God’s own heart.
My guess is that most of you do not have rap sheets like any of these. Yet, somehow you still feel unworthy of doing anything great for God’s kingdom. I struggle with the same feelings of unworthiness. That’s right where the enemy wants us.
Today I want to encourage you to remember you. are. chosen. You are the only one who can do what He has called you to do, the way you do it.
Did you get that?
You are worthy.
Look at all the “nobodys” God chose to be “somebodys” who are now known by everybody. Each of them repented, then accepted the forgiveness they were offered, then went on to make history!
Don’t get caught up in your own faulty thoughts about who you are. You are God’s chosen. You are loved far beyond the worst thing you’ve ever done.
Now go out and make history!
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.” -Romans 8:1-4
