This is not our home.

Over the weekend we remembered the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Now what? What does it mean for us today? Okay, so Jesus rose from the grave. The fact He did that means He has power over everything holding us in bondage. I can’t think of anything bigger than the bondage of, or the fear of death. What are you facing today that holds you in bondage? Have you fully grasped the fact that when Jesus conquered death (for us), He conquered anything that could ever potentially have power over us? Some of the last words Jesus spoke on the cross were, “It is finished.” He paid it all. It’s done. We won. Do you know what that means? When looking at life with an eternal perspective, we do not need to fear anything. We can learn from the story of Job in the Bible. Job lost everything. His family, his health, his property, everything. He could not understand what in the world God was doing and why He allowed so much to happen to him, but he trusted Him. He had an eternal perspective. He understood the place he was in was temporary. It was not his home. Heaven was his home, and he knew one day he would be there. As you experience various trials during this time, I challenge you to keep an eternal perspective. Do not get caught up in everything going on here Take your thoughts to a higher place, remembering, believing, and finding joy in the fact that anything you are going through is temporary. The victory is won. If you know and have a relationship with the Savior, you are covered and can look forward to an eternal home in Heaven. Nothing can take that away. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake, we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
