The Battle is Won

We have reached another election year! Ugh!

I’m not sure our country has ever felt more internal and external angst than it has in 2020. I am pretty sure we can thank the media and social media for that. I’ve done my best not to get caught up in the negativity, the hate disguised as “information,” and the smoke and mirrors so well used by the enemy.

If you are feeling the stress of the season, I want to encourage you to reflect on the peace of the Lord. We all have convictions. That’s okay, but it’s important to contemplate the source of our convictions. Have you crossed the blurry line of what’s right and wanting to BE right?  There is certainly no need to fight your family or friends.

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

This doesn’t mean sit and do nothing. It is important to vote. We do need to speak up at times, but let’s be real. . . many of the times we’ve opened our mouths, or viciously attacked our computer keyboard, were times where we should have followed the scripture above.

John 16:33 says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

The battle is already won. Because of that truth, we can trust that God has everything under control.

LET GOD BE GOD.

As always, we must remember who the real enemy is. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesian 6:12-18

Trust in the Lord. Ask for wisdom. Hand November over to Him. The Battle is won.
