Children of the King

Today is the day, and if you are anything like several people I’ve talked to over the past week, you may be freaking out. I get it. I have moments of freak out as well.

Moments. Then I remember that I am the daughter of the Almighty King, and I don't need to worry. You are one of his kids too. Because our Father holds the highest position in the universe, we can trust that no matter what happens today He will uphold us with His righteous hand (Isaiah 41:10). Breathe in. Be anxious for nothing. Breathe out. Regardless of who wins tomorrow, there will be some feelings. You may be dealing with your own disappointment, or the disappointment of others. Either way, stop, take a breath and say, “I will put my trust in you.” (Psalms 56:3) Breathe in. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he’s done. Then you will experience God‘s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. This peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.“ Philippians 4:6-7 Breathe out. Remember that when all is said and done, you will hopefully still be surrounded by people you love and who love you. Focus on them and what’s right in front of you. You may need to make amends. Be generous with grace. People are what matter right now. Invite Jesus in, and you will be just fine. You can do all things through Him who gives you strength. Philippians 4:13 We’ve made it this far through 2020, so no matter what happens, we can make it through whatever comes our way. . . together. Breathe in. “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.“ Ephesians 4:3 Breathe out.
